Katniss to sing on Hunger Games Soundtrack

Omigosh how exciting! Jennifer Lawrence who plays Katniss will be singing in the Hunger Games Soundtrack. How very Billy Boyd in The Return of the King!

Jennifer recorded 'Rue's Lullaby' where Katniss sings after Rue who is mortally wounded in the film.

From MTV:

... Burnett not only told MTV News that filmmakers will be releasing "Hunger Games" tuneage soon, but that one track will feature Lawrence herself.

"Yeah, we did," Burnett said when we asked if Lawrence had recorded anything in the studio. "And it was beautiful. She did great. She's singing great. Killer actor too."

Burnett's confirmation follows a blog post in June from the website of Echo Mountain Recording Studio in North Carolina, detailing Burnett's in-studio work with Lawrence. The post has since been deleted and Lawrence's musical contribution has not been confirmed. After our chat with Burnett on Tuesday at the "Big Lebowski" reunion in New York, though (spoiler alert), we know the 21-year-old actress in fact recorded "Rue's Lullaby," a song Katniss sings after Rue, a young tribute in the Games, is mortally wounded.

"Yeah, we did that. We recorded that," Burnett said about "Rue's Lullaby." "And it'll be coming out soon."
