Katharine McPhee Separated from Husband Before Making Out With 'Smash' Director

Smash director Michael Morris may have still been married when he was caught macking it to his former cast member Katharine McPhee, but McPhee was apparently separated from her husband for months.

Based on information from multiple sources for Us Weekly, McPhee and husband Nick Cokas have been separated for six-months now.

As a result of the leaked photos, Morris' wife of ten years allegedly booted the director from their home for his unfaithfulness (because dude, not cool) while McPhee is supposedly just embarrassed by the whole thing.

"She is SO embarrassed she was caught," one source said of the unfortunate situation. "She should have known better!"

Wow, way to shame your friend. We hope the person who sold their friend out to a gossip mag meant to say, "they should have known better" because with friends like that who needs enemies.
