Former AMERICAN IDOL judge KARA DIOGUARDI has welcomed a son via surrogate.
The songwriter and her husband, Mike McCuddy, welcomed their first child, Greyson James Carroll McCuddy, on Thursday (31Jan13).

A representative for DioGuardi tells People magazine that Greyson was born in Los Angeles via gestational surrogate, weighing eight pounds, 10 ounces.

The newest addition to the couple's family comes after they faced a series of fertility issues and failed in vitro fertilization (IVF) attempts before opting for a surrogacy. (TD/PE/PAW)
