After assaulting a photographer in LAX last month, TMZ reports that Kanye West is now facing a lawsuit.
The paparazzo, a man named Daniel Ramos, appeared with his lawyer Gloria Allred at a news conference to announce that a lawsuit for assault, battery, and interference with civil rights (in this case, Ramos's free speech) has been filed against Kanye West.
Ramos, who refers to himself as a "filmmaker," claims he spent two weeks on crutches after the attack, in which an irritated West attempted to wrestle the photographer's camera away from him. Ramos has been walking with a cane ever since, and claims to still suffer from pain related to the attack.
Allred argued the assault sets a dangerous precedent for paparazzi violence, especially given the stance of various celebrities who have displayed their support for West. At one point, the famed lawyer chided Kirstie Alley, Cher, and even Kylie Jenner for applauding Kanye's attack on Twitter. Allred says she's asking the court to issue a restraining order against the rapper.
Ramos is suing for unspecified damages.
