Kanye West Apologizes on Jay Leno

Kanye West looks very remorseful on Jay Leno's new primetime show last night in an interview before his performance with Jay-Z and Rihanna.

Jay asked when Kanye realized he made a mistake. Kanye said: "As soon as I gave the mic back to her and she didn't keep going." Jay also brought up Kanye's late mother -- which I thought was a bit unfair. There was a very long awkward pause after Jay's question.

If this was indeed a carefully crafted PR damage control, it worked. Kanye came across as a sympathetic figure who was really sorry at what he had done. How can you continue to scorn someone who has admitted that his own hurt has caused hurt of others? He said he needs to reflect, "just analyze how I'm going to make it through the rest of this life, how I'm going to improve." This is actually the third time Kanye has apologized in the last 24 hours.

Tomorrow, we'll see Taylor Swift on The View.

Kanye West is now a meme on the Internet. He's basically interrupting all public events now.
