Kacey Musgraves - Keep It To Yourself - MP3 Listen

Kacey Musgraves has never been one to play it safe. Couching modern and at times blatant (for country music) lyrics in more of a traditional sound, she made her name in the debut single 'Merry Go Round' (which won a Grammy for Best Country Song), which muses over the insular nature of small town life and freely mentions weed. 'Blowin'' Smoke', her second single, was also a commentary on the views and habits of small town folk, and 'Follow Your Arrow', although critically appraised, its "do what makes you happy" anthemic nature with weed and gay relationship references proved a little too much for the country music establishment in the end.

Her new single, by comparison, is surprisingly more conventional, although brilliant. 'Keep It To Yourself' is more of a standard heartbreak ballad, although it continues to defy radio's current conventions. You can check it out below.
