Julianne Hough Apologizes for Halloween Blackface

Julianne Hough stirred up a ton of controversy this past weekend when she stepped out on the town donning blackface as part of her Halloween costume. Hough, a big fan of the Netflix series Orange is the New Black, created her own version of a "Crazy Eyes" costume. Crazy Eyes is a character portrayed by African American actress Uzo Aduba.

Now, Hough has issued a statement via her official Twitter account in which she apologizes to those whom she offended:

"… It certainly was never my intention to be disrespectful or demeaning to anyone in any way. I realize my costume hurt and offended people and I truly apologize."
