Judy Davis Leaves '24: Live Another Day'

One of the major new additions to 24: Live Another Day has exited the series just months before the premiere.

A spokesperson for FOX has confirmed that the Oscar-nominated, Emmy-winning Australian actress Judy Davis has left 24: Live Another Day due to personal reasons. Davis was to play a recurring villain role as the widow of a terrorist. Production on the hotly-anticipated FOX limited series began just last month in London, with the first official teaser trailer premiering during the Super Bowl this past Sunday. The role will now be recast, in order to keep the show on track for its premiere on May 5.

It's a shame to lose her, as Davis really is one of the best actors of her generation, and she could have added a ton to this show. But I suppose "personal matters" implies something that was unavoidable, so I wish her all the best, regardless. Here's hoping they can find a worthy replacement in time.
