Josh Brolin to Play Thanos in 'Guardians of the Galaxy' + 'Avengers' Sequel
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has another huge villain for its heroes to be worrying about these days.
Josh Brolin has been cast as Thanos in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, which hits theaters on August 1 after what feels like a lifetime of waiting. Thanos, of course, is the villain who first appeared in the post-credits scene of The Avengers in 2012 (where he was played by actor Damion Poitier), and who's been a fixture of Marvel comic books since his first appearance in Iron Man #55 in February 1973.
Brolin is expected to appear in both Guardians of the Galaxy and The Avengers: Age of Ultron, and could be a major fixture in the Marvel Cinematic Universe beyond those two films.
So yes, if you're as big a fan of the involvement of Thanos
, now would be the time to get hyped.
