Jordin Sparks - Sanjaya's Got Guts

Jordin Sparks says Sanjaya's got guts (Yahoo!)

Until now, when asked her favorite male singers, Jordin Sparks topped the list with John Mayer and Justin Timberlake. But, the effervescent new "American Idol" champ said Wednesday, she's got another name to add: Sanjaya Malakar.

"He had so much guts," the 17-year-old "American Idol" winner told The Associated Press. "He had so much strength. He got a lot of criticism, but for him to go out on that stage and hold his head high ... I really look up to him for that. He's just an amazing kid."

Finally, finally, someone from AI6 who wholeheartedly supports Sanjaya Malakar in the media. Although, you know, she won, so she's magnanimus (why be bitter?) -- but still, I love that Jordin got this in print. It helps both her and Sanjaya.

What if we start an unsubstantiated rumor that Sanjaya and Jordin are dating? Wouldn't that be cute? They can make a movie! Like From Justin to Kelly -- or High School Musical:

Go Sanjaya! Go Jordin! Go Seventeen!
