In an interview with That Grape Juice, Sparks says she hopes to release her new single the first week in August with an album release soon thereafter. She seems really excited about her new prospects - including film and television. She also speaks candidly about writing Ariana Grande's "The Way" for herself, and said it was originally supposed to be on her upcoming album. She said she wrote it about her relationship with pop singer Jason Derulo. However Ariana's people heard it and she loved it, cut it and it's the smash hit it is now.
I know Jordin's fine because as popular as "The Way" is, either way she's winning. Although it would have been interesting to hear the former Idol winner's take on the song. She once got Mariah Carey comparisons too, but Grande eclipses her similarities.
