Johnny Depp and Mia Wasikowska will be falling down the rabbit hole yet again, they are officially signed on to reprise their roles in Alice in Wonderland 2.

The news was confirmed by Disney (via the Huffington Post), who said that Wasikowska and Depp would be back to play Alice and the Mad Hatter in the sequel. It will also have the same screenwriter, Linda Woolverton.

Not coming back is the original's director Tim Burton, who is being replaced by James Bobin (who created the comedy Flight of the Conchords and directed the 2011 film The Muppets).

A release date was also announced, with Disney saying to expect the film to open Memorial Day 2016.
