John Stamos and Warner Bros. Are Working on a 'Full House' Revival

It's been nearly twenty years since Full House left the airwaves, yet if John Stamos has a say, the show could be returning to TV.

Warner Bros. TV is reportedly considering reviving the series, a decision based primarily on the ratings strength of reruns of the show on Nick at Nite, as apparently viewers of all ages have been devouring the series. Yet Warner Bros. isn't alone in trying to make this revival happen, as John Stamos is apparently the guy trying to get this revived series off the ground. And not just for nostalgia's sake: the actor has an ownership stake in the show, meaning he stands to make a small fortune if this new series gets off the ground and is anywhere near as popular as the original.

Stamos and Warner Bros. are reportedly on-board along with original executive producer Bob Boyett and creator Jeff Franklin, who will be writing the new series. Meanwhile, a sizable portion of the original Full House cast are also involved, such as Candace Cameron Bure (D.J.), Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie), Andrea Barber (Kimmy Gibler), Bob Saget (Danny) and Dave Coulier (Joey).

According to insiders, the revived series was initially pitched last year with the same broadcast model as FX's Anger Management. Under this model, an initial 10 episodes would be picked up, and if a certain ratings threshold was met within that 10 episode run, the network would pick up an additional 90 episodes, to be produced at an accelerated pace. This proposal ultimately didn't work out, but the idea didn't die there.

The revived show is still in the earliest of stages, so not a whole lot of details are out for what the show would actually entail, but even getting to speculate about this at all is kind of surreal. Could Full House pull a Boy Meets World and find a second life with a popular sequel series? If the new Full House builds the same sort of buzz Girl Meets World did for Disney, it wouldn't surprise me to see this project getting fast-tracked to development. Hell, the cast has made all sorts of headlines in recent years with reunion teases, from appearances on ABC's The Neighbors to a much-hyped Super Bowl Ad for Oikos Greek Yogurt. This is without even getting into the viral segment on Jimmy Fallon last year, as John Stamos reunited fictional Full House band Jesse and the Rippers for a special performance. In short, the demand for a Full House revival is clearly there, in some form or fashion.

But what do you think? Is a new Full House a good idea? Or is it best to leave the past in the past? Sound off in the comments!
