While Australia has its share of lush, green surroundings, not everything green in Australia is legal.
Joel Madden, Good Charlotte frontman and coach on the Australian version of The Voice, was busted for possession when marijuana was found in his room in Sydney's Darling Hotel. The Good Charlotte rocker took to Tumblr, of all platforms, to address the situation, confirming that "a small amount of marijuana" was found by a hotel employee and "police were called and responded."
"Sydney is is my adopted home and I appreciate the way the NSW police handled the situation," Madden continued. "They have informed me there will be no charges. I hope this didn't cause too much drama for anyone."
However, while charges were not pressed, Madden was immediately asked to leave The Darling Hotel. I would imagine Madden sees this as a fair enough trade, given the alternative.
