J.K. Rowling is Suing the Daily Mail for Defamation

Harry Potter author extraordinaire J.K. Rowling is suing British newspaper the Daily Mail (read: the Daily Fail) for defamation.

Specifically over the headline they published which reads: "How J.K. Rowling's sob story about her past as a single mother has left the churchgoers who cared for her upset and bewildered"

Wow, that's certainly a headline.

Court documents reveal that Rowling was presented as accusing, "her fellow churchgoers of behaving in a bigoted, unchristian manner towards her, of stigmatizing her and cruelly taunting her for being a single mother."

Which of course Rowling says is completely false and that the tabloid is merely making things up.

A tabloid? Making things up? Shocking, we know.
