Jimmy Iovine: 'Lana Del Rey's Voice Haunts Me the Way Stevie Nicks' Did'

This is a tall order. At the Recording Academy's fifth annual producers and engineers event on Wednesday night, Interscope Geffen A&M Jimmy Iovine was honored. In case you don't know, Jimmy has worked with the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, and Stevie Nicks.

Right after a video montage honoring the record exec, he spoke his praises of Lana Del Rey's Born to Die, saying:
“I dare anybody to tell me that’s shit’s not amazing. It’s left-of-center, it doesn’t sound like anything on the radio, it’s not trying to be anything to anyone…”
He then compared the newcomer to the incredible Stevie Nicks. From THR:
“Lana haunts me the way that Stevie's voice haunted me and I just love her album so much,” he said. “But I can't compare anybody to Stevie Nicks because Stevie has the greatest tone of any female rock singer that I've ever heard.”
