Jimmie Allen - "I Like The Girls" to be featured in Hollister Stores

One of the Top 40 contestants on American Idol this season who we only got a glimpse of was Jimmie Allen. He auditioned with Sunday Morning in Nashville.
Jimmie recently contacted me and said that he wanted make it on Idol for his singing, and not rely on a backstory. If Jimmie had contacted me earlier, I would have told him, though noble, this is not a good strategy! Idol is all about drama, so if you can get the producers' attention with an interesting story then back it up with talent, you'll be on your way to success on the show.
It turns out that Jimmie has an interesting story which he didn't reveal to the producers. He is from Lewes Beach, Delaware and moved to Nashville in August 2007. He lived in a trailer without any heat for a few months until the landlady sold the trailer. And just like Josiah Leming, he lived in his car for a few months after that. That's not new for Idol, but at least it would have been something compared to "generic black dude."
He also told me that he loves surfing and four-wheeling (which isn't "generic black dude").
Jimmie wrote a song for Big Mike (from last season) which might appear on Big Mike's album. And even better news: His song "I Like The Girls" will be featured in Hollister stores worldwide beginning March 30 until the summer. If you are a Hollister guy, go check it.
