Jimi Jamison, lead singer of 'Survivor', dead at 63
Jimi Jamison, the lead singer of the bands Survivor and Cobra, died on Sunday night August 31, 2014. He was 63.
TMZ reports that Jamison died of a heart attack.
Jamison joined Survivor after the band's hit "Eye of the Tiger". He however was the lead vocal in the following songs: "The Search Is Over", "Is This Love", "The Moment of Truth" from The Karate Kid, "Burning Heart" from Rocky IV and the theme song from Baywatch "I'm Always Here".
Jamison recorded six albums with Survivor and seven solo albums. His latest in 2012 titled Never Too Late. In 2011, he sang "Eye of the Tiger" with the band as the entrance song for Manny Pacquiao in his bout against Juan Manuel Marquez.
