Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsons was recently awarded an Emmy for his work on the hit CBS comedy, but he'll soon have another trophy to add to his mantle.

The Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) is honoring Jim Parsons and his longtime boyfriend Todd Spiewak with its Inspiration Award at the 2013 Respect Awards.

The ceremony shines a spotlight on organizations and individuals who have made a difference in areas of diversity, inclusion and safe schools movements.

In addition to Parsons and Spiewak, the GLSEN is also recognizing Designing Women creator Linda Bloodworth-Thomason, as well as Lionsgate Entertainment, producer of Mad Men and Orange is the New Black producer Lionsgate.

The ceremony is scheduled to be held Oct. 18 in Beverly Hills.
