Jessica Sanchez to Perform at Democratic National Convention

By Tina Bradley ·

Jessica Sanchez will be performing at the Democratic National Convention September 5th in Charlotte, NC.

She may not be old enough to vote yet, but that won't stop American Idol  season 11 runner up Jessica Sanchez from partying like a Barack star (I know, I know) at the Democratic National Convention.

Jessica will be just the latest of several former Idols, including fellow season 11 cast mate Shannon Magrane & season five winner Taylor Hicks to get in on the election year fun.  Magrane & Hicks both performed at the Republican National Convention this past week.

Jessica made the announcement via her Twitter account, indicating she was "excited and honored" to get the gig.  Should be an exciting opportunity for the teenager.  Congratulations Jessica!
