Jessica Chastain Reportedly Offered Lead in 'True Detective' Season 2

Could it be true? Do we dare dream?

Reportedly, two-time Oscar nominee Jessica Chastain has been offered the lead role in True Detective Season 2, which creator Nic Pizzolato conceived as a more female-driven season of TV than the first.

According to The Nerdist exclusive, Chastain has yet to officially accept the role, and her representatives refuse to comment on the situation. But even if she doesn't accept, the next twelve months should still be big for her. Between her upcoming Marilyn Monroe film, the much-anticipated Christopher Nolan epic Interstellar (watch the trailer!), and her rave reviews at Cannes, Chastain is a seriously hot talent at the moment. Here's hoping she accepts, so we can skip to speculating on who will be cast as her partner.
