Jerry Lewis Rushed to Hospital
Jerry Lewis, the legendary comedian and former spokesperson for the MDA Telethon, was rushed to a New York City hospital Tuesday night after he collapsed at a Friars Club event honoring Tom Cruise, according to the New York Post.
The 86-year-old entertainer was scheduled to present an award to Cruise when he collapsed due to low blood sugar.
"I am sorry Jerry couldn't be here tonight, but I know he is going to be fine," said Cruise.
Lewis was reportedly released from the hospital and returned to his hotel room.
