Well, it's official: Elisabeth Hasselbeck is out, Jenny McCarthy is in.

Entertainment Weekly reports that the comedian-actress will be taking over one of the open spots on ABC's The View this fall.

McCarthy is no stranger to the hit daytime talk show, as the star has made 17 previous appearances on the program, eight of which were stints as a guest co-host.

The news comes in the wake of the announcement last week that longtime co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck would be leaving the show for Fox News. Hasselbeck isn't the only one departing either, as Joy Behar will be leaving next month while founding host Barbara Walters has announced she will leave the show next summer, though she will remain on as a producer.

“Jenny brings us intelligence as well as warmth and humor,” Walters said in a statement. “She can be serious and outrageous. She has connected with our audience and offers a fresh point of view. Jenny will be a great addition to the show as we usher in an exciting new chapter for The View.”

“I’m beyond thrilled … I look forward to helping make hot topics a little bit hotter, and showing my mom that my interrupting skills have finally paid off,” added McCarthy, in a statement of her own.

McCarthy, 40, also thanked VH1 for allowing her to take the gig, since she's currently under contract for her late-night talk show, The Jenny McCarthy Show. However, the show hasn't really meant much to ratings, so VH1's decision is unsurprising.

McCarthy will join the 17th season of The View on September 9 on ABC.
