Jennifer Lopez offered $10 Million but not yet signed, FOX in 'chaos' - American Idol Apocalypse

The Daily Beast is reporting that Jennifer Lopez was offered more than $10 million to judge American Idol 10.

But the L.A. Times says that J.Lo has not yet signed on the dotted line!

The Hollywood Reporter notes on the state of affairs behind the scenes:

The network has gone into bunker-mode to press inquires about "Idol," partly because Fox hopes to make a splash Monday at its TCA presentation, partly because deals are still being worked out and partly because things are frantic behind the scenes.

"It's a mess," said one source. "There's a million cooks in the kitchen, it's truly complete chaos."

And also on how Ellen DeGeneres' departure went down:

"They begged her to stick around," said one person with knowledge of exit. "They said, `We're re-tooling the show around you, we'll hire [her friend] Elton. We'll get judges you want.' She said, 'All right, I'll roll with you guys.' She was trying to be a good soldier and not bail out. They begged her not to bail up until two or three days ago."

Wow! So three days ago, Ellen was still on board and when she bailed -- we now have an entirely new judging panel just like that. (Kara DioGuardi has reportedly been fired.) It's like the first celebs who bit, they took! Way to run your cash cow FOX.

So come January next year when you start your annual b#tch about this show called American Idol, remember this weekend. They "created" their "dream judging panel" in three days in a panic.

This show is so over. We are back to square one and it's going to be really hard to watch since there is a lot of history behind the American Idol brand -- and they're just putting whoever is willing to put up with them in a hurry for a press conference on Monday.

But who knows, Jennifer Lopez and Steve Tyler may just be what this show needed.

FOX rolling the multi-million dollar dice this weekend. Amazing.

Update from THR: No judge announcements this Monday since wait for it... no one has signed the dotted line! Damaged goods I tell you.

Fox sources say there will be no "Idol" announcement on Monday. "No deals are signed." Keep in mind, last year Cowell signed his "X Factor" deal minutes before taking the TCA stage, but Fox is making this time sound pretty official.

FOX really needs to mull this over. The Ellen bombshell was really a big blow. I'm so depressed!
