Jennifer Hudson - I'm Here - Kennedy Center Honors
Jennifer Hudson sang "I'm Here" from the Color Purple as a tribute to Oprah Winfrey at the Kennedy Center Honors.
Fantastic!
I wonder why they didn't invite Fantasia Barrino. I think it has something to do with the controversies she was going through at the time. Fantasia owns this song, but Jennifer did a good job. I guess Grammy and Academy Award winner trumps controversial Reality TV star when it comes to occasions like this. Oh Fantasia. She could have sung to so many prestigious people in the audience, but instead that honor goes to Jennifer Hudson -- who had nothing to do with The Color Purple until that night. Sigh.
