Oh jeez. I think watching this routine made me forget what hip hop is. I love watching these dances, especially the openers and closers, but this week's hip hop opening couple, Jenna Johnson and Tucker Knox, was just incredibly boring. Nigel gets it totally right with "unconvincing" as his choice adjective. These kids totally phone in this hip-hop routine (set to "Slight Work" by Wale featuring Big Sean). I mean, I guess they nail every move, but there's no OOMPH behind it. Jenna couldn't get that Broadway smile off her face and Tucker looked like a string puppet. I didn't like this. It was the dance equivalent of a wack white hipster covering Dr. Dre on acoustic guitar. Watch the video below and try not to wince too much.
