Jay James sang 'Say Something' on The X Factor UK 2014 Room Auditions.

I kind of went through stages with Jay. I didn't like it at first, then I loved it, then it kept going, and I liked it less and less. But by the end of it, I looped back around to being utterly won over by it. Jay definitely has a unique, raw talent, and he has the potential to be a real contender if he can hone his abilities as he goes on in the competition. Of course, I worry he might end up becoming the "Corny adult contemporary contestant who cries a lot". And I already lived through Christopher Maloney, so I'm not too keen on doing it again. But Jay seems like an inherently more passionate singer than Christopher, with a richer, more nuanced tone. So I'll be interested to see what he can do as he continues on.
