Janet Jackson is in preliminary talks to join The X Factor as a judge reports THR. How very interesting!

I think Janet would bring class and dignity to the proceedings specially after the death of her brother Michael Jackson. However is she interesting enough? We've seen Mariah Carey on Home Shopping Network so we know how she's going to perform if Simon changes his mind and offers her the job, and @god only knows how perfect Whitney Houston would have been... but Janet, I don't know. Her only notorious moment was when she invented the wardrobe malfunction -- and that didn't require speaking.

Could Janet Jackson be joining The X Factor?

Just one week after The Hollywood Reporter broke news that Whitney Houston was under consideration for a judge’s seat on the show, reports have surfaced that another pop icon is throwing her hat in the ring.

After an awkward interaction with Anderson Cooper on Thursday, in which Jackson tiptoed around the subject, sources tell THR that the singer has expressed interest in joining the show.

“Oh my God,” the 45-year-old laughed on-air. “No I’m not a judge on The X Factor.”

“You’re not currently a judge on The X Factor,” responded Cooper.

“No, I am not,” said Jackson. “But that’s all I really think I should say.”
