James Rebhorn Dead at 65

Actor James Rebhorn (who most recently took on the role of Claire Danes' father on Homeland) has died. He was 65-years-old.

The news was confirmed to the Hollywood Reporter by Rebhorn's agent who said that the character actor passed away in his New Jersey home on Friday (March 21).

TMZ is reporting that the actor died due to complications with skin cancer. He was diagnosed with melanoma in 1992.

In addition to his recent work on Homeland, Rebhorn also had a recurring role on White Collar.

You may also recognize him from his roles in the Seinfeld finale, My Cousin Vinny, Basic Instinct, Law & Order, Meet the Parents and Independence Day.

And that's just a brief smattering of Renhorn's work from his five decade career.

He is survived by his wife and five children.
