James David Carter sings 'Nobody Knows' on The Voice 2014 (Video)

James David Carter sang 'Nobody Knows' on The Voice 2014 Season 7 Blind Auditions on Monday, September 22, 2014.

James talks about how football was going to be his career path until an injury took that away from him. While recuperating, he started writing songs and eventually grew his musical talent to the point where he began working as a musician at a local club, opening for such acts as Dwight Yoakam, Trace Adkins, Brad Paisley, and others. He wonders if maybe he made a mistake in not going back to school, but he wants to give music a real shot.

The coaches gave James a four chair turn.

"You can win this thing no problem," said Adam Levine. "I guarantee victory if you choose me."

"I have nobody on my team like you," said Gwen Stefani.

"There was never a nervous second in your performance," said Pharrell Williams.

"This maybe the best country audition that I have ever heard," said Blake Shelton. "You've gotta do the right thing."

After the performance, James David Carter said: "I have to go with my gut."

Rickey's Passing Thoughts: "Sigh. Blake keeps on getting the country singers. I hope someone takes a risk in the future. Gwen is right, all the country singers on Blake's team will just battle each other out. They have a better chance with the other coaches."
