Jada Pinkett Smith Joins FOX's Batman Prequel, 'Gotham'
A new villain has made her presence felt in Gotham City, and her name is Fish Mooney. (Yes, Fish Mooney.)
Jada Pinkett Smith has signed on to FOX's Gotham as Fish Mooney, a "sadistic gangster boss" who not only owns one of the most successful nightclubs in Gotham, but also possesses an "almost extra-sensory abilities to read people like an open book." The character is a creation that is original to the TV series.
Gotham, set to debut this fall, serves as a prequel to the Batman mythos, featuring the respective origin stories of the future Commissioner Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) as well as the villains in Batman's considerable rogues gallery.
Smith joins a cast that includes Donal Logue as Gordon's partner, Harvey Bullock; Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot, the man who will become The Penguin; Sean Pertwee as Bruce Wayne's butler/surrogate father, Alfred Pennyworth; Zabryna Guevara as Captain Essen, Gordon and Bullock's boss; and Erin Richards as Barbara Kean, Gordon's fiancé.
Hopefully all this casting news means we'll be getting our first look at the series soon!
