Jacob Lusk - A Song for You - American Idol Video

Jacob Lusk sings A Song for You on American Idol

Black Diva Alert! Someone get Lusk on RuPaul's Drag Race now.

Randy Jackson said that Jacob Lusk's performance of "God Bless The Child" was the single greatest performance on American Idol ever. This is why Randy cannot be the voice of reason on the show. I completely disagree. "Summertime" by Fantasia was the greatest performance ever on the show -- and even that is followed closely by some great performances by David Cook, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Bo Bice and even Blake Lewis.

So no. "God Bless The Child" is not the greatest performance on Idol ever. It was good, but not the best ever. It has one essential ingredient missing: the thrill of a live performance on TV in front of millions. Hollywood Week performances have the benefit of editing on their side.

But we still love Jacob Lusk's crazy happy dance.
