Jack Walton sings 'Halo' on The X Factor UK 2014 (VIDEO)

Jack Walton sang 'Halo' on The X Factor UK 2014 Judges' Houses.

I'm not entirely sure why Mel B stopped Jack at the start. Maybe he did appear to be off in his own world, but judging by his past performances, he's always been an artist who builds his songs as they go along, so I would have given him a little longer than just those first ten seconds or so before calling him out on being insular. That said, I thought this was a good performance, although I'm not certain it was live show material, given the strength of this category. And that's a shame since I like Jack a lot. I think it mostly boiled down to song choice, as he picked a song that didn't really offer him the opportunity to show everything he could do.

But what do you think of Jack Walton?

Watch the performance video below and check back tomorrow to find out if Jack makes it through to live shows:

RESULT

JACK WALTON did not make it through to Live Shows.

Even though this was ultimately the right call based on last night's performance, I really hope this isn't the last we've seen of Jack. I think there's tons of potential there that we've yet to see.
