Jack Walton sings 'Eye of the Tiger' on The X Factor UK 2014 (VIDEO)

Jack Walton sang 'Eye of the Tiger' on The X Factor UK Live Show 3 on October 25, 2014.

I kind of wish Mel B would stop trying to turn Jack into Ed Sheeran's Little Brother. The guy is talented, but these arrangements are doing a number on his vocals. Seriously, I like Jack a lot, but I don't think he's performed as well in any of the live shows so far as he did in the auditions/boot camp/judges' houses stages. And I'm not entirely sure who's at fault there. Is it Mel B's song choices? Is it the arrangements? Is it Jack going for notes he can't really hit? I'm not sure. And what's crazy about this is that the first 30 seconds of the song was one of my favorite moments of ANY performance this week. Had the whole song been as stripped-back and low-key, I would have been a lot higher on this performance. It would have shown a unique side to Jack, one that hasn't been entirely in evidence with all the pop arrangements, dancers, and seizure-inducing lights. Jack is a good singer, and a good musician. I wish Mel B would just let him...you know, be that guy.

But what do you think of Jack Walton?
