If it's British network home has its way, then The X Factor UK's head guru, Simon Cowell would make a return to the show's judging panel.
According to a report, ITV will be willing to extend the contract for XF UK if Simon returns. If not the deal may be shorter. Assuming the deal may be shorter, ratings may not improve and result in an axing entirely.
Cowell left the UK version to focus on building the USA version. His rep says that of course everyone would want him to do that, but he can't be two places at once. Additionally, an insider said that Cowell would return if the US XF ratings fell, which could result in it's axing.
Although the last XF UK ratings were the lowest since 2006, the show, along with Cowell's Britain's Got Talent, are still powerhouses on the network's schedule.
