Is Oprah Setting Up A Show For Adam Lambert?
On the "Share Your Story" page of Oprah's website yesterday, the show appeared to be looking for Adam Lambert fans for an upcoming show with this posting:
“Calling ALL Adam Lambert fans!!! Did you vote for him as many times as you could? Were you holding your breath when the new American Idol was announced, hoping and praying it would be HIM? If you are a HUGE fan of Adam Lambert’s, email us now and tell us why you want to be in the audience for this once-in-a-lifetime show.”
Let's hope it happens and it's for the full hour! He can perform a lot of songs from the album and not just "Whataya Want From Me" (because I can't take it anymore) -- and talk about his obesity as a child and the controversy surrounding the disastrous AMA performance of "For Your Entertainment" and maybe talking about how he has single-handedly brought back glam rock to mainstream America. How exciting!
This should be good for album sales as sales across the board dipped last week. Adam Lambert only sold 17,000 copies down 71% from the previous week. I guess 1 million copies and passing David Cook will be harder than I thought. But Oprah will definitely help!
Adam is just getting amazing publicity -- imagine if Susan Boyle got half the exposure Adam has gotten -- she would have passed Taylor Swift easily for top album of 2009.
A whole show on Oprah just for Adam Lambert? He's a superstar!
