Police say an intruder had been living for a week on Jennifer Lopez’s property in the Hamptons while she was away.
Southampton police said the singer has issued an order of protection against 49-year-old Rhode Island native John Dubis. Information on why the order was obtained wasn’t readily available, but it's not that difficult to make the leap. Apparently, workers discovered Dubis in the pool house on Lopez's Water Mill property on Aug. 8. They called the police and Dubis was placed under arrest.
Dubis was arraigned the following day on charges of burglary, criminal contempt, stalking and possession of burglar tools. He’s due in court on Aug. 28. He is currently being held on $100,000 bail. It's currently unclear whether Dubis has a lawyer.
As for Lopez, the publicist for the singer/actress couldn’t be reached for comment. Lopez bought the 3-acre Water Mill mansion in May.
