In the Heights - Robin de Jesus and Jon Rua

This is the fourth time I've watched "In the Heights" on Broadway. I became a fan of Jon Rua last year from Damn Yankees, and when I learned he was going to understudy Usnavi tonight (is that what it's called: to understudy?) - I decided to contribute to the New York economy and treat myself to a Broadway show.

Jon was a refreshing change to Usnavi originally played by Lin-Manuel Miranda. Instead of trying to be a Lin-clone (which is impossible really), he just took the character and gave it his own unique spin. He is a hip-hop dancer, and this was the first time I've seen Usnavi do awesome dance moves. He also had the best chemistry of the Usnavis I've seen with the love interest Vanessa and that includes Lin. (And so apparently, I'm a fan and this was a rave review, LOL).

After the show, I waited outside for some pictures and omigosh, Robin de Jesus - so justifiably beautiful in real life.
