"In the Heights" - Lottery Update 2 - 06/21/08

Yoga in Times Square

Status: Fail

However I was extra productive in the Main Library today. I realized that not being home kinda forces you to do things. At least for the past 2 days its been working out that way. Hurray. I get to bill clients.

While waiting in line, I met Sarah who teaches special ed in the Bronx. We shared our New York gentrification stories. Basically she misses the crackheads who play dominos in the sidewalk. LOL. True, I kinda miss that -- the usual gang who hang out in front of my building just don't hang out anymore. They've all gone away. Now the apartment building is a revolving door for students and yuppies with disposable income who can't quite afford the higher rents in other parts of the city.

I arrived at 5:30 and there was already a mob in front of the theater. We actually had to get in line just write our names down on a piece of paper. While I was in line, Lin-Manuel Miranda came out of the stage door -- and then wished everybody good luck as he left for some errand.

Being the pro that I am, I waited for him to come back -- he was in a yellow shirt -- it was hard to miss. And then I asked for a picture. He said "quick" -- and then Sarah took our picture. Lin wore a shirt that said "I'm the King of Wishful Thinking" -- awesome!

Picking up some grilled pork belly dipped in vinegar now, and then I'm headed home to eat it.

Next lottery is on Tuesday Sunday noon.

Oh yeah, there was a group of people doing yoga in Times Square. Whatev.
