It's an explosive new Idology, as TVLine's American Idol expert Michael Slezak discusses Top 7 Week with Season 6 finalist Melinda Doolittle.
This week, the duo questions the validity of the judges' top 3 picks, before getting on America's ass for its own questionable decision-making. Seriously, I don't think Melinda was this pissed off when she was actually eliminated in her season. What has the singer vowing to potentially give up Idol after this season? Could this really be the last season of Idology? Check out the video below, via TVLine.com:
Thoughts:
I don't think Lazaro has any realistic hope of winning, if only because the fans of the eliminated contestants will simply back someone else instead, and overwhelm his fanbase. That said, I do believe he's going to continue to outlast worthier contestants as we get closer to the end, and that's troubling when you consider the level of talent remaining in the competition. Even Janelle has stepped it up to a considerable degree. Michael's right: the girl is hungry.
He's also right in another sense - Kree really needs to start showing a whole hell of a lot more than she has been. The girl who sang "Up to the Mountain" seems like a distant memory. Of course, even a Kree at half-capacity is still better than most of the talent that made it through to the top 40 this season.
So what do you think? How much farther can Lazaro go? Were the judges wrong to leave Candice out of their top 3? Do Amber and Kree really need to step it up? Sound off in the comments!
