Ian McKellen DOES NOT have Prostate Cancer
Ian McKellen's agent says that the actor does not have prostate cancer as reported the other day by the Mirror. Chris Andrews told ABC News: "No, he does not have prostate cancer… That was taken out of context and from an interview from years ago."
An announcement via Twitter is expected today according to Huffington Post.
Update: From Ian McKellen:
There have been new reports in the press of the old news that I have early prostate cancer. This was diagnosed six or seven years ago. There is no cause for alarm. I am examined regularly and the cancer is contained. I've not needed any treatment.

A report that Sir Ian McKellen has had prostate cancer for the past six or seven years has been denied by the actor’s agent, who said that McKellen is in fine health.Chris Andrews told ABCNews.com today that the actor, 73, does not have prostate cancer, as reported by the U.K. tabloid The Sun.
“No, he does not have prostate cancer. … That was taken out of context and from an interview from years ago,” Andrews said.
Andrews pointed to McKellen’s appearance at the premiere of “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” in New Zealand on Nov. 28 as evidence of the actor’s health.

A rep for the actor told The Huffington Post that McKellen will be releasing a statement on Twitter on Wednesday afternoon, "as there are so many different versions of the story out there."
