I Heart Apple
Finally, the long-delayed drool about another Apple product post.
The new iPod Shuffles are so cheap, I am purchasing some for my sister's three kids. Same goes for the new Mac mini, which I will buy for my mother. It will be her first computer. I am excited. The price points for these new Apple products are so attractive, it's such a no-brainer now to get a Mac. Apple is going to make a lot of money this year.
Two years ago, Ursula, who doesn't blog anymore and whom I have lost touch with, told me that the iPod was Apple's way of selling more Macs, the so-called "halo" effect. A lot of people are talking about this, but I still think that Apple sells the iPod for the sake of selling it (they do make a profit on it you know). However, if they can use the iPod to sell more Macs, or more specifically to make Windows-users switch, why not. We mustn't forget that the real reason the iPod took off was the release of iTunes for Windows.
(I am also linking directly to the amazon.com site because they recently gave me a $10 gift certificate, to which I wondered: why? After a brief investigation I realized that some people bought Fantasia's new album from here, so the lesson of the day kids, is that linking does work. So go ahead, buy an iPod Shuffle. You know you want to!)
