Longtime on-air sidekick to Howard Stern, Robin Quivers, revealed this week why she'd spent over a year broadcasting remotely. Quivers had been fighting through a 15-month private battle with cancer of the uterus. Today, she is cancer free!

Robin Quivers, 61, revealed that she'd undergone chemotherapy, radiation, and two surgeries to rid her body of the disease, which began in the endometrial tissue of her uterus. Three months ago, doctors declared her cured. The news was revealed on The Howard Stern Show yesterday.

According to a quote from USA Today, Quivers explained, "It never occurred to me to not be on the air… When I was on the air, I was pain-free."

Stern reacted to Robin's story on Monday's show with his own particular brand of frankness. "I gotta be honest, I thought she was a goner." However, he then went on to further explain the personal importance of his co-host and friend. "Where I would lose courage, Robin always had the courage. She always is the brave one. Always the brave one with me. I could go to her, and I could always rely on her." When Quivers first approached Stern about having a "procedure" done last May, the long-time radio host didn't mince words. "I'll f--king kill you if you have cancer. I'm not doing the show without you...I'm quitting if you're not doing the show."
