How to Vote on The X Factor via Twitter

Starting next week, you can vote for your favorite contestants on The X Factor via Twitter!

Here's how:

From thexfactorusa:

Voting with a Direct Message

Only Twitter votes sent using a Direct Message will count toward final vote count — not Tweets.

What’s a Direct Message?

Direct Messages are similar to Tweets, but are sent privately to another user — in this case, @TheXFactorUSA.

Will everyone see my votes?

No. Direct Messages are private and only viewable by the sender and recipient. Your guilty pleasure won’t be visible to anyone except you.

Why Twitter?

There’s no better time! Fans have been talking TV on Twitter for years. The X Factor™ judges and acts use Twitter to share their every move. The #XFactor hashtag organizes real-time conversations around the show and connects fans to each other. And now, Direct Message voting provides a direct line for fans to impact the show like never before.

And that's it! Will American Idol and The Voice follow Twitter voting next year? We'll see! I think The Voice will. I'm not so sure about American Idol -- their interns are haggard -- I doubt they'll be able to take any more work like counting Twitter votes.
