The stars and creative minds behind How I Met Your Mother were at San Diego Comic-Con to discuss the final season of the hit CBS comedy.

During the panel, a video was unveiled that addressed millions of questions asked by fans online, such as "What kind of father tells his kids stories about all the women he's banged? Also, what kind of father holds his children captive while he tells it?" In the video, Lyndsy Fonseca and David Henrie are back, but this time as adult versions of Ted Mosby's kids, worn down by eight years spent on a living room couch, listening to their father tell them pretty much everything except how he actually met their mother. It's pretty damn great. Check it out below:

Here's what else HIMYM cast and creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas revealed:

It was a match made in Heaven for Josh Radnor and Cristin Milioti, the actress who was revealed to be The Mother. Radnor recalled first meeting his future on-screen wife, saying, "Right when she walked on set it was kind of like, 'Oh there she is!' It was this feeling of yes, that's her." Radnor continued, "We're a very tight-nit group of five… and to add in this iconic mystery person could've been not great and she's so great. I couldn't be happier."

Fans will also get the change to fall in love with her, despite the revelation that the entire season will take place over the course of the weekend in which Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) and Robin (Cobie Smulders) get married, as the season will feature flashbacks and flashforwards to keep the narrative from feeling trapped. As series co-creator Carter Bays explains, "We, like you, want to get to know this girl. We want to see Ted happy and we want to see the great moments that are ahead of him once he meets this girl." Co-creator Craig Thomas added, "Ultimately, we wanted you the fans to meet the mother before Ted even gets to meet her and we're going to spend season nine getting to know her."

In addition, the final season will have a wealth of guest stars, the first of which has already been announced: The View's Sherri Shepherd, as a woman Marshall (Jason Segel) meets while en route to Barney and Robin's wedding in the season premiere. Says Bays, "We're throwing a wedding and everyone's invited! If there's someone that you've loved over the past eight years on this show, there's a good chance that they'll be there." We know for sure that Barney's brother James (Wayne Brady) will be coming back, but unfortunately he's not bringing good news with him. Harris reveals, "We find out at the wedding that James is getting a divorce. So that puts things into a little bit of a pickle."

The familiar faces don't end there, as Thomas teased one last appearance by Robin Sparkles. "We can't confirm nor deny but it's a wedding and people sing songs at weddings." The creators also teased that Robin and Barney's first dance as husband and wife will be absolutely legendary.

Lastly, the creator assured that some of the lingering loose ends of the series will be tied up in the final season, such as the slap bet between Marshall and Barney. Carter boasted, "There's going to be an episode in the middle of the season that plays during the course of one slap. Like we're going to get the tennis camera that the US Open uses that takes like a minute to look at someone's serve and that's going to be a slap and you're going to be flashing back and forth." In addition, the creators revealed that we would finally learn the origin of the pineapple on the nightstand, one of the show's most enduring little mysteries. Also, we can expect another over-the-top musical number, with a few new songs spread out across the season!

You can watch the season premiere of How I Met Your Mother when it airs Monday, September 23 on CBS.
