'House of Cards' Star Elizabeth Norment Dead at 61

House of Cards has tragically lost one of its own.

Actress Elizabeth Norment, who played executive secretary Nancy Kaufberger on the Netflix series, has died at age 61 following a battle with cancer.

No specifics have been released concerning Norment's passing, other than that she died on Oct. 13 at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.

"Everyone at 'House of Cards' is deeply saddened by Elizabeth’s passing. She was a talented actress, a warm soul and a good friend to us all," said executive producer Beau Willimon in a statement.

"Elizabeth Norment was a talented actress with a beautiful spirit who touched the entire House of Cards family," added MRC, the studio that produces House of Cards, in a statement. "Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends."
