Heroes "I Am Sylar" Recap

Oh for f#$@'s sake. I was already about to declare this the best episode of the season and then Matt Parkman shows up and ruins everything. Can he be the "sacrifice" in the season finale next week please?

Anyway, that was the bad. The entire episode was mostly good. So good, I am very excited for next week and looking forward to next season, now that the writers look like they know what they are doing again. Heroes is back. I didn't think it would, but it's watchable again.

SPOILERS

So the shapeshifting powers drive Sylar into an identity crisis. He goes into schizophrenic shapeshifting episodes with his dead mother. Real cool.

Danko and Sylar are on the trail of Micah aka Rebel. But when Sylar meets Micah, Micah is able to convince Sylar not to capture him. He also suggests that Sylar can use his power to be Nathan Petrelli. Sylar lets Micah escape.

Sylar then transforms into Nathan, with the purpose of getting a chance to meet the president so he can shake his hand (and then shapeshift into him). Nathan comes back to his office where Sylar confronts him. Danko shoots Nathan with tranquilizers. While Sylar is monologuing, Danko stabs him in the back of the neck with a knife. But Sylar stands up again. "That hurt," he says.

Meanwhile, Hiro shows his true asshole self, and treats Ando like crap even if Ando already has a power. Hiro however has a change of heart when they get ready to storm Danko's headquarters. He now acknowledges Ando as an equal in their heroic quests. Unfortunately, Hiro's nose starts bleeding and he cannot use his powers.

And then Parkman. It's so bloody useless, I'm not even... arghh. For a moment I was hoping he would "go away" as the dialogue suggested as much, but no -- he wants to fight for his family. Kill. Him. Now.

Please NBC -- I DEMAND that Parkman not come back next season.

Go Heroes! Milo Ventimiglia is HOT!
