And with this episode, Heroes Volume 3: Villains is over. Whew. It almost completely killed the franchise, but there is still hope on the horizon. Heroes Volume 4: Fugitives returns on February 2, and this time our characters are all hunted down by the U.S. Government. Very X-Men and Marvel's Civil War, but whatever.

So what happened?

Spoilers:

1. Sylar goes on a rampage at Primatech seeking revenge on Angela, and puts the whole building on lockdown. He injects Meredith with adrenaline -- which results in her not being able to control her "fire" power. Sylar tricks HRG into going into the cell with Meredith then locks them there. Claire saves HRG and Meredith, but Meredith chooses to stay behind -- I'll come back for you, Claire says, as she and HRG go after Sylar. Slyar interrogates Angela. Angela does her best to delay Sylar from killing her then plays the I-know-who-your-parents-are card which confused Sylar for a second, enough for Claire to stab a piece of glass at the back of Sylar's head which is the "off switch" for her power. She goes back to get Meredith, but Meredith cannot control her power any longer and blows up the entire building.

Claire, HRG and Angela: Alive. Meredith, Puppet-master, random characters: Dead. Sylar: Unknown, probably alive.

2. Hiro is trapped 16 years in the past. Parkman, Ando and Daphne want to save him. Ando says he needs to get time traveling powers so he can go and save Hiro. They go to Mohinder's lab, but he is not there. Daphne offers to run and get the formula at Pinehearst. Meanwhile Mohinder is about to inject himself with some formula because he thinks this might cure him. Just as he is about to inject, Daphne grabs it. Back at Mohinder's lab, Ando injects himself with the formula which Daphne just stole from Mohinder. He doesn't get time travel powers. Instead he becomes a "power amplifier". He touches Daphne which enables her to run so fast she can go back in time. They go back in time and save Hiro from Hiro's father who was about to stab him with a katana just as Hiro was about to rip the formula diagram. Hiro says that he needs to destroy the formula. Daphne brings him to Pinehearst.

Ando: Has powers.

3. Nathan confronts Peter who is looking at dead Arthur Petrelli's body at Pinehearst. Nathan asks Peter to join him, Peter knocks out Nathan, and heads for the basement to destroy the "formula". Mohinder was about to inject himself with some formula but Daphne stole it, then Peter comes in to destroy everything else. The guy who gets super strength because of fear and the blue-fire dude come in to help Peter. They trash the place.

4. The newly-injected marine comes up to the office to wake up Nathan. When the marine reaches the door, super strength fear dude appears and breaks his neck. He then starts to beat up Nathan. But Tracy comes in and turns him into ice. Tracy tells Nathan than they can shut down the project and start from scratch with the formula. Nathan has other plans and fires Tracy. Tracy goes to the vault and grabs the formula diagrams, but Hiro and Daphne arrive. Tracy calls Hiro "Pikachu" which angers him. He punches Tracy and grabs the formula diagrams from her.

Marine, Super Strength Fear dude: Dead.

5. Blue-fire dude gets angry and throws Mohinder. Peter shows compassion for Mohinder, and blue-fire dude turns on Peter. Nathan arrives and knocks him out with a pipe. However, he is also not friendly with Peter and beats Peter with the pipe as well -- You broke my heart Peter, he says. Then the blue-fire dude wakes up and burns the place. Peter finds some formula lying around then injects himself. He flies and saves Nathan. They land somewhere. Nathan asks him why he did it if he was so against the whole formula-thing. Peter says -- You're my brother and I love you. Nathan says he would not have done it then flies off.

Peter: Has powers. Nathan: now an asshole. Blue-fire dude: Unknown, probably dead.

6. Mohinder is walking on a road and a car pulls over. He sees his reflection and his scales are gone. Inside the car is Tracy. Daphne and Hiro come back to Mohinder's lab to meet Ando and Parkman. Hiro rips the formula diagrams. Parkman has a vision of that black dude who Arthur decapitated in Africa -- now what the F was that? Meanwhile, Nathan is talking to President Barack Obama about these freaks with powers. The president says that he will do everything he can to catch them.

Tracy, Hiro, Parkman, Daphne: Still alive. Mohinder: Powers unknown, probably has no powers.

Overall, all I can say is that I'm happy this is over and look forward to the next chapter. NBC has rehired the writer of Season 1, so I hope that fixes some things. I am not so sure if the show will return to its former glory, but I have some hope. This season almost destroyed Mohinder's character for example, and made Syler so incoherent by making him a good guy. All the rest of the characterizations were also poorly handled. See you guys on February 2!
