Heroes - Chapter 28 - Fight or Flight

Argghh. Heroes giveth then taketh. These "pockets of stories" is not working too well for me. In this episode, although a lot of things happen -- nothing really happens in the end. It's all character development for one hour -- what's going on here? Kristen Bell did not do anything! No questions were really answered which is a bit frustrating. I think the writers are approaching things like a comic book where there are pockets of stories from different characters that will eventually converge. However, we're running a bit blind here. There are THREE storylines that need stitching together: Hiro Nakamura, Peter Petrelli and Sylar and the twins. I just want small resolutions at the end just like last season -- instead we are falling into the trap of Lost where instead of getting a-ha moments we are given more questions. This is almost worse than Lost because every storyline that is running now has their own set of new questions every single week. Peter opens the box and it is such a disappointment. And so we are going to Montreal, great. Another wild goose chase on top of those other two with Hiro in Japan and Sylar with the twins. Just not feeling this at the moment, maybe I need to watch it again.
In fairness, Nathan and Parkman's encounter with Nightmare Man proved that the Nightmare Man was indeed all-powerful -- and the scene itself was great, although a bit cliche -- but it still didn't tell us if he was indeed the guy murdering everyone. Remember, a lean man physically pushed (well hurled) Hiro's dad off the building to death, then disappeared. Nightmare Man is not very fit.
The highlight of this show for me was seeing Micah play the piano. In real life Noah Gray-Cabey is a child prodigy concert pianist -- he's been playing the piano since age 3. He's a figgin' genius. When Monica was playing the piano by just listening, that's pretty much Noah Gray-Cabey right there. Very cool.
Again, I was just not moved by this episode. It's just too choppy for me. I want to say "best episode ever" again -- but this season is not letting me! C'mon Heroes, bring back the mojo.
