Though he's only directed three feature films, each film from director Spike Jonze has left an indelible imprint on the cinematic landscape, with mindbenders like Being John Malkovich and Adaptation, and fantastical adventures such as Where the Wild Things Are.

For the first time, Jonze will be directing his own original screenplay, featuring Joaquin Phoenix, Scarlett Johansson, Amy Adams and Rooney Mara in a unique love story in which a man (Phoenix) is drawn out of his introspective shell and back into the social world by a Siri-like computer program named Samantha (voiced by Johansson). The film is scheduled to close the New York Film Festival this October before its release in theaters across the country on November 20.
